HYDERABAD: Pro-Telangana students disrupted the Group I preliminary exam at a centre on Osmania University campus by barging inside on Sunday, while similar attempts were thwarted by police at other places in the State capital leading to arrest of many, including public representatives.
The bandh called by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday opposing conduct of the exam evoked little response, but protestors attacked RTC buses and commercial complexes at different locations.

Tension gripped the exam centre — Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE) — on Tarnaka side of OU campus with some protestors snatching question papers and burning them. Police had to lob tear gas shells as a lathi-charge failed to disperse stone-pelting mobs.
Activists of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were the first to try to storm the centre 30 minutes before the exam, notwithstanding the presence of massive police contingents and barbed wire fencing at the centre.
They were stopped, bundled into vehicles and sent away. But, streams of students from different directions repeatedly tried to force their way in only to be whisked away by the police.
The see-saw clash continued when a batch of protestors came from English and Foreign Languages University side taking police off guard.
They pulled the barbed wire fencing and jumped over the IASE compound wall. Smashing the window with a boulder, they entered the exam hall and snatched question papers forcing the panic stricken candidates to walk out. Some candidates taking the exam too joined them.
“Is this the way to conduct Group-I exam? How can I write it with stones being hurled at me,” a candidate vented his anger at the police. The protestors ran out carrying question papers and answer sheets, tore and burnt them on the road. One of them, Ehwar, fell unconscious as he was thrashed by police.
Meanwhile, groups of students swelled outside and started hurling stones at the police forcing the latter to use tear gas shell to disperse them.
The Congress MPs, G. Sukhender Reddy, Madhu Yashki, M. Jagannadham, G. Vivek and K. Rajgopal Reddy, TRS and BJP MLAs, E. Rajender and Laxminarayana were taken into preventive custody near EFLU.
The area continued to be tense for some time with woman activists of the Progressive Democratic Students Union staging sit-in before the EFLU condemning the lathi-charge while others observed protests at the Arts College.

EFLU issues clarification on student protests
HYDERABAD: Responding to a report published in these columns on Saturday, the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) clarified that the university Vice-Chancellor Mohd. Miyan met the agitating students of the varsity on August 12 at 11.30 a.m. and listened to their problems.
The V-C told the students that he had constituted an academicians' committee to resolve problems relating to infrastructure, but the students refused to talk about it arguing that they would only talk to the V-C who had left for Delhi by then, the university's proctor Harish Kumar Vijra said. It was also pointed out that agitating students locked up the university staff in the main building and refused to let them out despite authorities repeatedly pleading them.

It's utter mayhem in headless Eflu
HYDERABAD: Trouble is brewing at English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu), the vice-chancellor post of which fell vacant after Abhai Maurya, the previous VC, was removed from office in June. According to university sources, the headless institution has now ended up as a battle field between students, faculty and administration and is currently under the indirect control of HRD minister for state Daggubati Purandeswari.
Eflu, which is temporarily under in-charge VC, Prof Md Miyan (vice-chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University), has in a period of two weeks witnessed a massive protest by students demanding basic amenities, an uprising by faculty members against the students' protests and an administrative breakdown for want of a permanent VC, say university sources.
Sources said that the university is in the middle of utter mayhem which is only worsening by the day. "The appointment of another vice-chancellor will take more time as the ministry of human resource and development has not announced a deadline for the next appointment. In the absence of the VC, work on issues including student accommodation, water problems, development of the new campus and even floating of tenders has come to a standstill," a source said.
University sources said that two of the top administrative posts in the university are now occupied by the minister's (Purandeswari) candidates. "Several teaching posts too are held by those in her good books. With all of them vying for more power, the administrative matters of the university have gone for a toss," a source said. In the past few months, the construction activities on Eflu campus have stopped due to administrative slowdown, sources said. Even the removal of the former vice-chancellor, Abhai Maurya stating "overage'' as reason is being said in the university circles as a move by Purandeswari to make the university her forte.
The absence of a full-time VC is troubling the students too as most of the administrative staff have turned a deaf ear towards their grievances, they say. "At a time when we were not getting food in mess for days, the in-charge vice-chancellor directed us to a defunct committee without taking immediate action. We got no answers from the administration even after holding a protest in front of the administrative building," said an Eflu student.
Meanwhile, to add to the mayhem, the faculty members are currently thinking of taking action against students who stopped administrative work in the university during their protest. According to rumours floating thick and fast, a few of the student protesters might even get rusticated for leading agitation in the university.
When asked to respond to the burning issues on campus, a senior professor in the university and former pro-vice chancellor, Maya Pandit said that most of the problems on campus were not caused due to administrative slowdown or by the political influence of infighting. "There are problems on Eflu campus but that has got nothing to do with politics or with administrative slowdown. The in-charge vice-chancellor along with senior professors in the university are always around to sort out issues of the students. The problems will soon come to an end once all the parties hold a meeting," Pandit said.

Eflu’s Vizag plan angers T-students
Hyderabad, April 20: Tension prevailed on the campus of the English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) on Tuesday as students protested the university’s decision to abandon its plans to build a campus on a 100-acre site at Pochampally in Nalgonda district.
On Monday, the university proctor, Mr Harish Kumar Vijra, had told this newspaper that the Eflu has put off its plans to set up a campus at Pochampally as the Eflu Act, 2006, did not permit it to set up its headquarters campus outside Hyderabad.
On Tuesday, hundreds of students gathered in front of the administrative block. They wanted the university vice-chancellor, Professor Abhay Maurya, and the proctor to offer an explanation.
The Telangana students union even accused the varsity of “favouring” the Andhra region by proposing to set up a centre in Visakhapatnam instead of Pochampally.
Following the protests, the university officials retracted their earlier statement. Distancing himself from the proctor’s statement, Prof. Maurya said the proctor was “not authorised to talk on the issue” and that the university is doing its best to set up a campus on the same site although existing rules do not permit them to do so.

కొంచెం సమయం ఇవ్వమని చెప్పి బాల్ రెడ్డి ఫోన్ పెట్టేశాడు. క్యాటరింగ్ వ్యాపారం చేసే తన మిత్రుడైన అశోక్ కు ఫోన్ చేసి పరిస్థితి వివరించాడు. భోజనం ఏర్పాట్లు చేసేందుకు అశోక్ సంతోషంగా ఒప్పుకున్నాడు.
మేము సమావేశం ముగించుకుని రాత్రి పది గంటలకు ఉస్మానియా యూనివర్సిటీ చేరుకున్నాం. అదొక దుర్భేధ్యమైన కోటను తలపిస్తోంది. ముళ్లకంచెలు, ర్యాపిడ్ ఆక్షన్ ఫోర్స్, సి.ఐ.ఎస్.ఎఫ్, సి.ఆర్.పి.ఎఫ్ బలగాలు యూనివర్సిటీని దిగ్బంధం చేశాయి.
అక్కడి దృశ్యం ఎంతటి కరకు గుండెలనయినా కదిలించేది. ఆర్ట్స్ కాలేజి ముందు ఒక విద్యార్ధి సాగరం. దాదాపు రెండు వేల మంది విద్యార్ధులు….నిండా పాతికేళ్లు లేని రేపటి తరం ప్రతినిధులు…ఎముకలు కొరికే చలిలో, వరుసల్లో కూర్చుని, చేతుల్లో పళ్ళేలు పట్టుకుని అన్నం కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తూ…

“అన్నం లేటైతే పర్వాలేదు ఎదురుచూస్తం కానీ తెలంగాణ మాత్రం లేట్ కావొద్దు” అన్నడు పక్కన ఉన్న విద్యార్ధి
వారు వయసులో చిన్నవారే కావొచ్చు కానీ ఇవ్వాళ వారి పోరాట స్ఫూర్తి చూసి మొత్తం ప్రపంచం ముక్కున వేలేసుకుంటున్నది. వారి నిబద్ధతకు జడిసి ఎన్నడూ కలవని జెండాలు కూడా తెలంగాణ కొరకు ఒక్కటవుతున్నాయి.
ఎలా రాజుకుందీ పోరాట జ్వాల అని చాలామంది ఆశ్చర్యపోతున్నారివ్వాళ. ఇన్నాళ్లూ ఎక్కడ దాగిందీ ధర్మాగ్రహం అని నివ్వెరపోతున్నారు.
ఇక్కడి గాలిలో, ఇక్కడి మట్టిలో, ఇక్కడి నీటిలో ఉన్నది ఆ పోరాట స్ఫూర్తి. నైజాం నవాబుకు వ్యతిరేకంగా కదిలిన బాలదండు, 1969 తెలంగాణా పోరులో రాలిన ముక్కు పచ్చలారని వందలాది విద్యార్ధుల చైతన్యమే ఈనాటి తెలంగాణా పోరులోనూ ఆవిష్కృతమవుతోంది.
ఇంతలో ఫోన్ వచ్చింది. అన్నం తీసుకువస్తున్న వాహనాన్ని పోలీసులు ఆపారని, లోపలికి అనుమతించట్లేదని.
ఎక్కడయినా చూశారా విద్యార్ధులపై ఇటువంటి నిర్బంధాన్ని?
కనీసం అన్నం కూడా తిననీయని “ప్రజాస్వామ్య” ప్రభుత్వాన్ని?
మొదటినుండీ ఉస్మానియా యూనివర్సిటీ అంటేనే పాలకులకు హడల్. 1969లో ఉద్యమానికి గుండెకాయలా నిలిచింది ఈ యూనివర్సిటీనే.
ఇక్కడ ఏదో ఒకటి చేసి ఉద్యమాన్ని అణిచివేస్తే మిగతా ప్రాంతాల్లో కూడా ఉద్యమం చల్లారిపోతుందని మన పాలకుల పిచ్చి నమ్మకం. అందుకే ఉస్మానియాపై ఈ ఉక్కుపాదం.
కొంతమంది విద్యార్ధులు వెళ్లి అన్నం తీసుకు వస్తున్న ఆ వాహనాన్ని ఇంకొక దారిలో ఆర్ట్స్ కాలేజీకి సమీపంలోని రోడ్డు దగ్గరికి తీసుకువచ్చారు. అక్కడి నుండి విద్యార్ధులు బేసిన్లలో, గిన్నెల్లో అన్నం, పప్పు మోసుకువచ్చి తమ సహచరులకి వడ్డించారు.
రాత్రి పన్నెండవుతుందేమో అప్పుడు. ఇంకా కొంత మంది విద్యార్ధులు అన్నం తింటుండగానే ఒకవైపు లాన్స్ లో కలకలం రేగింది. ఏమైందని అక్కడికి వెళ్లి చూస్తే ఒక యువకుడు ఒళ్లంతా గాయాలతో మూలుగుతున్నాడు. అతను ఇంజనీరింగ్ కాలేజి మెస్సులో పనిచేసే కాంట్రాక్ట్ ఉద్యోగి అట. ఏదో పనిమీద బయటికి వెళ్లి వస్తుంటే పోలీసులు పట్టుకుని పిచ్చిపట్టినట్టు కొట్టారు.
ఎవరో ఫోన్ చేస్తే పక్కనే ఉన్న 108 వాహనం వచ్చింది.
ఈ సంఘటనతో విద్యార్ధుల్లో ఆగ్రహం కట్టలు తెంచుకుంది. పోలీస్ జులుం నశించాలనే నినాదాలతో యూనివర్సిటీ దద్దరిల్లింది. కొంతమంది యువకులు కోపావేశాలతో ఊగిపోయారు. పోలీసు క్యాంపువద్దకు ఊరేగింపుగా వెళ్దామని అన్నారు. ఇంతలో విద్యార్ధుల జే.ఏ.సి. నాయకులు అక్కడికి వచ్చారు. ఇది మనల్ని రెచ్చగొట్టి హింసని ప్రజ్వలింపజేయడానికి పోలీసులు చేసిన కుట్ర అని, ఇటువంటి కవ్వింపు చర్యలకు మనం లొంగవద్దని విద్యార్ధులకు నచ్చచెప్పారు. కాసేపటికి విద్యార్ధులు శాంతించారు.
మళ్లీ లాన్స్ లో బృందాలుగా విడిపోయి ఉద్యమ గీతాలు పాడటం మొదలు పెట్టారు పిల్లలు.
రాత్రి ఒంటిగంట అవుతుండగా మేము అక్కడినుంచి నిష్క్రమించాం.
ఉస్మానియాను ఒక్కసారి సందర్శిస్తే ప్రతి తెలంగాణా పౌరునికీ కొండంత ధైర్యం వస్తుంది. తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ దీపాన్ని తమ రెండు చేతులూ అడ్డుగాపెట్టి కాపాడుకుని ఇప్పుడొక మహోజ్వల పోరాటానికి ఊపిరులూదిన ఆ యువకుల, యువతుల అసమాన త్యాగఫలమే రేపు సిద్ధించబోయే తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం.

Kapil Sibal gets a taste of Telangana agitation

AGITATION:Pro-Telangana students of University of Hyderabad lay siege to the venue of press conference of Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and D. Purandeswari in Hyderabad on Saturday.
HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Human Resource and Development Kapil Sibal had a taste of the ongoing Telangana agitation during his visit to the University of Hyderabad here on Saturday.
When pro-Telangana students of the Central University caught the security personnel and the university administration unawares by blocking the venue of a press conference, organisers had to hurriedly shift the venue to a plush five star hotel in the last minute.
As a result of the sudden development, the Minister's appointments at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), located next door to the hotbed of Telangana agitation Osmania University, had to be cancelled.
It all began at 1.50 p.m. when about 50 students of the Telangana Students Association mistook a convoy of Vice-Chancellors of different Central Universities to that of the Union Minister and obstructed it from reaching the venue where Mr. Sibal and Union Minister of State for HRD, D. Purandeswari, were to address a press conference at 2.10 p.m.
Appearing out of nowhere and shouting pro-Telangana slogans, they blocked the cars. Even as the heavy posse of policemen tried to remove them from the way of the convoy, some of them rushed to the portico of the building and staged sit-in ranting pro-Telangana slogans.
They also vent their ire against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Sibal, for his education policies. “I have sought an appointment with Mr. Sibal but was declined,” claimed one of the protesting students Lakshmi Narayana.
Sensing the futility in convincing the students to leave, officials shifted the press conference venue.

Earlier, in the day, when Mr. Sibal inaugurated the new building complex of Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication on the university campus, about 120 students affiliated to the Students' Federation of India (SFI) were prevented from reaching the venue by the police.

HYDERABAD: Browned off over the apathetic attitude of the administration, students of English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) staged a full scale protest, boycotting classes and locking up the administration block here on Friday.
With the Central varsity introducing several courses this academic year, there has been tremendous pressure on the university's resources. Topping the list is the severe infrastructure shortage at its student-run messes, Basheer hostel mess and Mahlaqa Bai Chanda hostel mess.
Despite its capacity of 450 students, Basheer hostel mess is catering to 750 male students while the Mahlaqa Bai Chanda hostel mess is providing meals to 450 female students against its capacity of 300, Parshathy Nath, a member of student general body, said.
As a result, students are forced to stand in long queues for a meal. “Often, it takes two hours to finish a meal. This is affecting our classes,” a student said. With the university administration unmoved by their plight, the students protested as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Miyan too failed to turn up at a meeting convened.
Students had their lunch squatting on the pavements inside the varsity.
They also wanted subsidised cooking fuel and food supply costs in the messes. “The administration has time and again tried to absolve itself of all responsibilities regarding the messes, claiming that they are students' affair. Is it not the duty of a university to provide minimum infrastructure for its student messes?” Ms. Nath wondered.
Students also pointed to manpower shortage in running the messes.

EFLU students stage demo for better amenities
Hyderabad, August 14: Tension prevailed inside the English and Foreign language University (EFLU) campus after scores of students staged a protest demanding better facilities for them on the campus.
Not a single class was held in the campus as irate students also locked up the lecturers and administration staff inside their office rooms.The students were demanding that they be provided with better mess and water facilities.
“There is not enough seating for the students in the two messes here. The seating capacity is almost half of the total strength of students studying on the campus. There are hardly 10 to 20 workers who are working in the mess for preparing food to more than 1300 students. Water supply problem also needs to be solved urgently,’’ G Priyank Verma, an M Phil student alleged.
The students said that despite several pleas to the university officials to solve their problems, no action has been taken so far.
The students now gave an ultimatum to the vicechancellor Mohammad Miyan to act upon their demands by August 17 failing which they would intensify their strike.

The English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu), a Central university, has violated norms to pick professors, assistant professors and associate professors during its ongoing recruitment.
The university has created a branch for Hindi and appointed eight staff with monthly salaries ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000 though the course will be launched only next year. Eflu released the notification for recruitment of about 120 teaching staff in July this year. Nearly 60 candidates have been appointed so far, and sources said most appointments flouted the norms. Sources said Eflu appointed Prof. Ram Wadhwa to teach Russian but he will cross 65 years, the age for retirement, in December. He has no degree in Russian.

Dr Venkateshwarlu, who retired from Osmania University, has been appointed Professor of Hindi in Eflu. Another appointee, Mr Venkata Rao didn't have a Ph.D degree.
Ms Sachi Madhavan has been appointed as professor though she does not hold a Ph.D, over others. Mr Thirupathi Kumar, who never taught a post graduate class and faces two court cases including one filed by the ACB, has been appointed. The deputy finance officer is an undergraduate teacher in Railway College with no experience in accounts. His application was not sent from the college. "The vice-chancellor, Mr Abhay Mourya, has a unique way of conducting interviews. He can schedule interviews for 124 candidates within an hour-and-ahalf," said a top administrative official in Eflu. He added, "He deputes his people to be on the experts committee. Most of these experts are not even in the lists approved by the proper bodies. When Prof. Ram Wadhwa was selected, the VC picked up a retired teacher from Osmania, Mr Murumkar, to be on the board. Mr Murumkar is neither a professor nor has a doctoral degree," the official alleged.
Even the department of media studies has come under severe criticism. The new head, Ms Nagamallika, and Mr P.L. Visweshwar Rao, an expert, have come under severe criticism.

Eflu students stage protest
HYDERABAD: Demanding better infrastructure facilities, students of English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) boycotted classes and staged a massive protest on the university campus on Friday.
About five hundred students staged a dharna in front of the administrative building demanding better mess facilities, classrooms and subsidised food.
According to students, the main mess hall was not large enough to accommodate the increased student strength and that even the staff was not up to the mark.
"Hardly 100 students can sit and eat at a time in the mess hall. Scores of others have to wait outside for their turn," research scholar Gurram Sitaramulu said.
University officials agreed that the existing mess facilities had to be upgraded. "The number of students has almost doubled to 1250 in the last three years due to introduction of new courses. We have been developing the infrastructure accordingly and the mess building will also be extended," registrar P Bapayya said.

ఉప ఎన్నికలతో ఉపయోగమేమి ?
తెలంగాణ ప్రజల ఆలోచనలను, ప్రత్యేక రాష్ట్ర ఉద్యమా న్ని మళ్ళించే క్రమంలో జరిగిన మరో మోసమే జూలై 27న జరగనున్న ఉప ఎన్నికలు. నిజంగా తెలంగాణ సాధనకు, ఎన్నికలకు మరీ ముఖ్యం గా ప్రస్తుత ఉప ఎన్నికలకు ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏమిటి? ఎన్నికల రాజకీయాలకు గత నలభై ఏళ్ళుగా తెలంగాణ వాదం పేరిట ప్రజలను పావులుగా ఉపయోగించుకోవడం లేదా? తెలంగాణ వాదాన్ని తామే విన్పిస్తున్నామని చెప్పుకు నే తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర సమితి ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికల ద్వారా నిరూపించాల్సింది ఏమిటి ? విద్యార్థులకూ ఈ ప్రశ్న వర్తిస్తుంది.
ఈ ఏడాది జనవరి 18 నుంచి వారు కాలినడకన తెలంగాణలో 600 కిలో మీటర్ల దూరం ప్రయాణించి వేలాది ప్రజలను కలిశారు. కుల మత వర్గ లింగ వయో భేదం లేకుండా ప్రజలం తా ఏకమై తెలంగాణే ఊపిరిగా నెలల తరబడి నిరాహార దీక్ష లు నిర్వహించారు. ఇంకా అనేక కేంద్రాల్లో దీక్షా శిబిరాలు కొనసాగుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. ప్రతిచోట తెలుగుదేశం, కాంగ్రెస్, బిజెపి అనే భేదం లేకుండా తెలంగాణను పోరాడి సాధిద్దామ ని శపథం చేశారు. ప్రజా ఐక్యతను చాటారు.
అయితే రాజకీ య నాయకులు ప్రజల ఉద్యమాన్ని నీరుగార్చేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు ఎన్నికల మంత్రం జపిస్తున్నారు తెలంగాణ వాదంపేరుతో జరిగే పదవుల పందెం తెలంగాణను సాధించేది ఎలా అవుతుంది? చరిత్రాత్మక పాదయాత్ర నిర్వహించిన విద్యార్థులే నేడు పాలక పక్షాల కుట్రలను, తెలంగాణవాదం పేరుతో జరుగుతున్న అంతర్గత అంశాలను అర్థం చేసుకోవడం లేదు. పైగా ‘తెలంగాణ ప్రజా చైతన్య యాత్ర’ల పేరుతో ఎన్నికల ప్రచార కార్యకర్తలుగా, పోలింగ్ బూత్ ఏజెంట్లుగా మారుతున్నారు.ఇదెంత విషాదకరం! తెలంగాణ ప్రజల నుంచి పోరాట చైతన్యం అలవర్చుకుంటే భవిష్యత్ ఉద్యమానికి మార్గగాములం కాగలమని తెలంగాణ యువత అర్థం చేసుకోవాలి. భవిష్యత్ తెలంగాణలో సమసమాజ స్థాపనకు, ప్రజాస్వామిక విలువల నిర్మాణానికి బాటలు వేయాల్సిన బాధ్యత తమపై ఉందని వారు గుర్తించాలి.
ఉద్యమం కోసం శాసనసభ సభ్యత్వానికి రాజీనామా చేసినవారి పట్ల సానుభూతి ఉండడం సహజం. వారిని గెలిపించే బాధ్యతను ప్రజలపై బలవంతంగా ఎందుకు పెడుతున్నా రు? రాజీనామా చేసిన వారు ఎన్నికలలో ఓడిపోతే అని ఆలోచించే విద్యార్థులు, యువజనులు తమకు తాము ఒక ప్రశ్న వేసుకోవాలి. అసలు ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికలను ప్రజలు అంగీకరిస్తున్నారా?
ఉప ఎన్నికలను అనివార్యం చేయడం ద్వారా తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమానికి సంబంధించి కొత్తగా రుజువు చేసేదేమి టి? ప్రజలకు అనవసర ప్రయాస కల్గించి సాధించేదేమిటని ఆలోచించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదా? ఏ రాజకీయ పార్టీ నాయకులైనా ఒకటే కాదూ? ఆ పెద్దల ప్రయోజనాలకు మన పీడిత ప్రజల ప్రయోజనాలకు ఎన్నటికి పొసగదు. ఒకవేళ పొసిగిన ట్టు కన్పించినా అది తాత్కాలికమే. అటువంటప్పుడు విద్యార్థులు, బుద్ధిజీవులు, తెలంగాణ వాదులు పాలక పార్టీ ప్రభా వంలో కొట్టుకు పోకుండా స్వతంత్రంగా ఆలోచించాలి.
పెట్టుబడిదారులు, దొరల పార్టీలకు మనం పోలింగ్ బూత్ ఏజెంట్లం కాము, కారాదు. తెలంగాణ పోరాట స్ఫూర్తిని మనం ఎలుగెత్తాలి. ఉస్మానియా చౌరస్తాలో ఖణఖణమండే నిప్పుతో ప్రతిఘటించిన సిరిపురం యాదయ్య ఆశయం మనకు స్ఫూర్తి కావాలి. ఏ విద్యార్థి అమరుడూ ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో మన రాజీనామా వీరులను గెలిపించండని మరణ వాగ్మూ లం ఇవ్వలేదు.
పోరాటమే మార్గమని పోరాడి సాధించండని చివరి మాటలు చెప్పి ఈ తెలంగాణలో వెలుగు నింపుటకై కొవ్వొత్తుల్లా కరిగిపోయారు. వారి వారసులుగా మనం ఫలా నా గుర్తుకే ఓటు వేయండని లేదా ఫలానా వారిని ఓడించండని చెప్పడమా? అలా చెప్పడం అమర వీరుల త్యాగాలను వాడుకోవడం కాదూ? ఇది తెలంగాణ ఆత్మగౌరవాన్ని అవమానపరచడమే.
తెలంగాణ సాధన కోసమే ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికలు అంటోన్న రాజకీయపక్షాలు కొన్ని ప్రశ్నలకు సూటిగా స్పష్టంగా సమాధానం చెప్పాలి. ఇవిగో ఆ ప్రశ్నలు: ఉస్మానియా క్యాంపస్లో వేణుగోపాల్రెడ్డి మృతదేహంవద్ద ప్రమాణంచేసి కూడా తమ శాసన సభ్యత్వానికి రాజీనామా చేయని యర్రబెల్లి దయాకర్రావు, దామోదర్రెడ్డి ఆంధ్ర పాలకులకు అనుకూలంగా వ్యవహరించడం లేదా?
రాజీనామాలు చేయడంలో చేయి తిరిగిన కెసిఆర్ చెల్లని రాజీనామా ఎందుకు ఇచ్చినట్లు? రాజ్యాంగ సంక్షోభం సృష్టించాలన్నప్పుడు టిఆర్ఎస్కు చెంది న ఇద్దరు ఎంపీలు తమ లోక్సభ సభ్యత్వానికి రాజీనామా ఎందుకు చేయలేదు? ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఎంపీలు రాజీనామా చేయాలని రాజకీయ జాక్ ఇంకా డిమాండ్ చేస్తూనే ఉన్నది. రాజీనామా చేయని ప్రజా ప్రతినిధులు రాజీనామా చేయాలని కోరుతూనే, రాజీనామా చేసిన వారిని తిరిగి ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎన్నుకోవాలని జాక్ పిలుపు ఇస్తోంది!
అసలు రాజీనామాను కోరుతున్నది ఉద్యమాన్ని తీవ్రం చేసి తెలంగాణను సాధించడానికి కదా. మరి మళ్ళీ ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎన్నుకునే కార్యక్రమం ఎవరి కోసం? అసెంబ్లీ సభ్యత్వానికి రాజీనామా చేసిన సందర్భంగా ఈటెల రాజేందర్, ఇతర టిఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేలు తెలంగాణ వచ్చేవరకు ఎన్నికల్లో పాల్గొనమని స్పష్టం చేశారు.
మరి ఇప్పుడు ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో తాము గాక మరెవరూ పోటీచేయకూడదని అనడంలో ఔచిత్యం ఏమిటి? తమ తొలి వైఖరికి కట్టుబడి ఉన్నట్టయితే తెలంగాణ యువత టిఆర్ఎస్ వెనుక నిలబడి ఉండేది కాదా? రాజీనామా చేసిన వారు తిరిగి పోటీ చేయకుండా ఉండి, రాజీనామా చేయనివారిపై ఒత్తిడి తెచ్చి వారిని తమ మార్గంలోకి తీసుకొచ్చినట్టయితే రాజ్యాంగ సంక్షోభం ఏర్పడేది కాదా? టిఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులు ఈ ప్రశ్నకు ఏం సమాధానం చెబుతారు? రాజీనామాలు అనేవి ఒక నిరసన రూపం. తద్వారా పాలకులపై ఒత్తిడి పెంచి క్రమంగా ప్రభుత్వ యంత్రాంగాన్ని స్తంభింపజేసి ప్రత్యేక రాష్ట్రాన్ని సాధించడం సాధ్యం అవుతుంది.
తెలంగాణ ఇచ్చేవరకు ఎన్నికలు జరపకుండా నిలువరించే సత్తా ప్రజలకు ఉంది. ఇప్పటికే రాజీనామా చేసినవారు మిన హా మరెవరూ రాజీనామా చేయడం లేదు కాబట్టి రాజీనామా చేసినవారిని మళ్ళీ ఎన్నుకోవాలనడం సబబైన వాదనేనా? ఇందు లో కనీస రాజకీయ నిబద్ధత ఉందా? విద్యార్థులు మంటల్లో కాలిపోతుంటే రాజీనామా చేసినవారికి సన్మానసభలా? ఇదెలాంటి పోరాట సంస్కృతి? వందలాది విద్యార్థులు, యువకులు తెలంగా ణ కోసం ఆత్మార్పణ చేసుకున్నా రు. నిస్వార్థంగా నిండు ప్రాణాల ను త్యాగం చేశారు.
మరి తెలంగా ణ నినాదంతో పదవులు పొందినవారు ఆ పదవులను ఒక విస్పష్ట లక్ష్య సాధన కోసం త్యాగం చేయలేరా? తెలంగాణ వచ్చేదాక పదవులు లేకుండా మనలేరా? ప్రాణత్యాగాల కన్నా పదవులకు రాజీనామా గొప్పా? రాజీనామా చేసినవారిలో ఏ కొద్దిపాటి నిజాయితీ ఉన్నా తెలంగాణ వచ్చే దాక ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ చేయమన్న వైఖరికి కట్టుబడి ఉండేవారని మేము భావిస్తున్నాం.
తెలంగాణ ప్రజ ల అభీష్ఠాన్ని అందరూ శిరసావహించవల్సిందే. రాజకీయ నాయకుల చట్రం నుంచి బయటపడిన తెలంగాణ, మళ్ళీ అదే చట్రంలో ఇరుక్కోకూడదు. ముఖ్యంగా విద్యార్థి లోకం తన సాహసోపేత ఉద్యమంతో తెలంగాణ లక్ష్య సాధనలో ఒక కొత్త అధ్యాయాన్ని ప్రారంభించింది. రాజకీయ నాయకుల చేతిలో ఏ విధంగాను ఎవ్వరం కీలుబొమ్మలం కానప్పు డే ప్రజాస్వామిక తెలంగాణ సాధ్యమవుతుంది.
విద్యార్థుల ఆత్మార్పణలకు తల్లడిల్లిపోయిన నాయకులు ఉద్యమంలో పాల్గొంటున్న ఇతర విద్యార్థులపై పోలీసులు బనాయించిన అక్రమ కేసులను ఎత్తివేయించారా? ఎత్తివేయాలనే షరతు విధించకుండానే గత జనవరి 5న కేంద్ర ప్రభు త్వంతో చర్చలకు న్యూఢిల్లీకి ఎలా వెళ్ళారు? ఆ చర్చల ఎజెం డా ఏమిటో ప్రకటించనే లేదు. చర్చల సారాంశమేమిటో ప్రజలకు తెలియలేదు.
అయినప్పటికీ శాంతి పత్రంపై టిఆర్ఎస్ తో సహా అన్ని రాజకీయపక్షాలు సంతకాలు చేశాయి. హింస చేస్తున్నదెవరు? శాంతి పాటించాల్సిందెవరు? ఇదంతా రాజకీయ పార్టీలు తాము కోల్పోయిన చొరవను ప్రజల నుంచి తీసుకోవడం కోసం ఆడిన నాటకం కాదా? ఇందులో భాగంగానే శ్రీకృష్ణ కమిటీ ఏర్పాటయింది. ఇప్పుడు ఉప ఎన్నికలు వచ్చాయి.
తెలంగాణ ప్రజల చైతన్యాన్ని ముఖ్యంగా విద్యార్థుల పోరాడే తత్వాన్ని దారి మళ్ళించిన కుట్ర ఫలితమే ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికలు. ‘మా ఆకాంక్షను గుర్తించకుండా ద్రోహం తలపెడితే సోనియా గాంధీ బొమ్మనే కాదు, కెసిఆర్ను అయినా వదలమని గత నవంబర్ 30న విద్యార్థులు చేసిన హెచ్చరికలు పాలక వర్గాల గుండెల్లో భవిష్యత్ పరిణామాల విషయ మై ప్రమాద ఘంటికలు మోగిస్తున్నాయి. అందుకే నిస్వార్థ తెలంగాణ ప్రజా సైనికులను విద్యార్థులను పోరాట పథం నుంచి మళ్ళించి ఎన్నికల ప్రచారకులుగా, పోలింగ్ బూత్ ఏజెంట్లుగా తయారు చేస్తున్నారు.
పోలీసు తుపాకులకు ఎదురుగా నిలబడి కలబడినవారు, పది రోజుల్లో తెలంగాణ ప్రకటన ఇప్పించినవాళ్ళు విద్యార్థు లే. ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో అయినా, ఏ ఎన్నికల్లో అయినా గెలుపోటములతో తెలంగాణ ప్రజల ఆకాంక్షకు సంబంధం లేదు. ఉద్య మ తెలంగాణ ద్వారా మాత్రమే ఆ ఆకాంక్ష సాకారం కాగలదు. ఈ వాస్తవాన్ని చాటి చెప్పాల్సిన బాధ్యత విద్యార్థులదే.
